I was referred to Canuso Insurance Agency from an old co-worker a couple years back. I was a new driver when I signed up with them and I do admit, they were very kind and somewhat helpful when I needed their assistance to handle a dispute with another driver who damaged my car. The other driver hesitated on paying for the damages. With all that said and done, I found a more reasonable monthly payment with another insurance company, as do many drivers out there. I am a student and as all students pay thousands of dollars per year on tuition and books, I am trying to find any cheap price I can grasp. When calling to cancel my insurance, the representative from Canuso Insurance Agency got extremely personal and made rude remarks that were shockingly offensive. I did not know exactly what the cause of this behavior was, but I feel that it was incredibly unprofessional and insulting. Some of us young drivers pay thousands of dollars each year because we are "new drivers", and though we are, in fact, young and naive, we deserve the same respect as any paying customer. I paid over 300 dollars monthly, which I understood was by reason of being a "new driver". Fortunately, I found a more reasonable quote elsewhere, which saved me at least 130 dollars monthly. This was a business decision, not a personal one. How could it possibly be personal? I, in no way, shape, or form, new this agency on a personal level. Now, when calling to cancel an insurance policy, one would expect no problems, unless a customer has, in fact, not kept up with their end of the bargain and not paid. I was under the impression that you call, tell your agent you want to cancel, and that be the end of it. On the contrary, when cancelling my policy, I found that I was given an unreasonably hard time in doing so. This agency tried to make me feel guilty, claiming that they went out of their way for me regarding the previously mentioned dispute. Apparently, they consider making a few phone calls, "Going out of the way for me." I'm sorry, but for the money I am paying;"That's your job". Also stated by the agent was, "I'm not like you, I have decency to call people ahead of time." I don't recall seeing, "Call ahead of time to cancel your policy", in the agreement. To add insult to injury, when I told the representative that I found their remarks offensive and tone of voice inappropriate, they continued with their unprofessional, ill-mannered behavior. In conclusion, I am not writing this review to pursuade people to not purchase their insurance with Canuso Insurance Agency. Just expect to be given a hard time when you cancel your policy if you find a more reasonably priced one elsewhere. Thank You.
